drug and alcohol prevention group dream Hattiesburg Inc. plans to take a message about 2,500 Forrest and Lamar Counties students during the Red Ribbon week, Mon-Fri.
DREAM volunteers will speak to students in the 13 elementary and middle school for a week.
“we will discuss alcohol prevention and alcohol what is not to the body,” said Anne Nelson, Coordinator of prevention.
Nelson says the dream is the focus of discussion on alcohol prevention due to alcohol abuse is the leading cause of death among young people.
“we see the kids start using alcohol around the age of 14, and the more they have, the more likely they will make a good decision,” he said.
